Bheemunipatnam Beach
Bheemunipatnam Beach Known as Bhimli for short, Bheemunipatnam, the second oldest municipality in the country, lies at the mouth of theGosthani river. The town is just 25 km north of Visakhapatnam and one of the roads between the two places runs all along the shoreline, providing breathtaking views at many spots. Bhimli beach is considered one of the safest for swimmers and surfers as the water is shallow.
Bheemunipatnam Beach is located at the mouth of the river Gosthani. Bheemunipatnam is simply breathtaking. Go back to the 17th century. Discover the remains of a Dutch settlement, ruined. Once a Dutch settlement, the ruins of a fort and cemetery are still intact. The journey between Visakhapatnam and Bheemunipatnam is exhilarating.
Nearer the sea and facing the flagstaff is a well-equipped round bungalow, which is said was originally the Vizianagaram Raja's resort. The view of the seascape from the verandah of the bungalow is captivating. This place was an important port in olden days. It has a lighthouse and it is a minor port though it is seldom used now. There is a Dutch cemetery called Hollanders Green, which overlooks the ocean. Bheemunipatnam Beach is undoubtedly a place of holiday resort. The journey from Vishakhapatnam to this beach is exhilarating.
