Mehao Wildlife Sanctuary is situated near Roing the headquarters of the Lower Dibang Valley District The surrounding of the Sanctuary is inhabited by Idu Mishimis and Adis. The major festival are Solung, Aran Etor and Reh which are celebrated.
Approach
Roing is the gate way to Upper Dibang valley and well linked to Tinsukia and Dibrugarh by regular bus and taxi services. Pawan Hans Helicopter Service connects Roing to Itanagar. The nearest Airport is Dibrugarh which has regular flight correlation to New Delhi and Kolkata by Indian Airlines, Jet Airways and Sahara Airways. Tinsukia is the nearest railway station. Hotels, Circuit House, Forest and PWD Inspection Bunglows are existing.
