The Mahabhairav
Temple
 The Mahabhairav Temple at Tezpur believed to have been built by prehistoric monarch Bana who is said to have first introduced the cult of the Phallus and the worship of Siva to Assam. A fair is held here during Sivaratri.
The main market, Chowk Bazaar, is on MC Road roughly 1-km north of the tourist lodge, with the ancient Mahabhairav temple.
The Mahabhairav Temple Dedicated to Lord Shiva this temple is the oldest Shiva shrine in the region. It is located in Tezpur town.
