Stonecraft
 Stonecraft is Bihar's rich heritage which is
from the ancient sculptures of the Mauryan period. The main stoneware
centre of Bihar is Patharkatti in Gaya district. This area abounds in
the less expensive blue black pot stone from which images and household
articles like the pestle, medicine grinder are made.
Stone craftsmanship has a tremendous scope in the areas of architectural
elements, interiors of houses and as outdoor furniture and fixtures.
Planters, lamps, chairs, benches, tables, fountains are already being
fashioned in Bihar, Jodhpur, Makrana and Ambaji. |
