Lower Lake
Situated towards the eastern end of Upper Lake, Lower Lake is a small lake
in Bihar which was built in 1794 by Nawab Chhote Khan, minister of Nawab
Hayath Mohammed Khan. It is surrounded by built up areas and has a
smaller catchment area of 9.60 sq km Water spread area of this lake is
1.29 sq km This Lake is also known as Chhota Talab.
The Upper Lake which is six sq. km. in area, is divided from the Lower
by an over bridge. The legendary Raja Bhoj is credited with the
construction of these two lakes. |
