Bamboo Weaving
 Bamboo Weaving is a
major art form in Goa. Similar to other crafts in the state, this craft
also exhibits a blend of Portuguese and Indian style.
Goa being a famous tourist destination, its beaches feature restaurants
constructed in the style of huts belonging to the fishermen and farmers.
These structures make heavy use of bamboo weaving. Apart from general
purpose baskets and mats, this craft is used for making decorative
products like flower baskets, letter-holder, pen stands and fans. These
products serve as a valuable souvenir to the tourists. |
