Rajmahal
Rajmahal is a
historical town on the right bank of the Ganges River in Sahibganj
District, Jharkhand. Sahibganj district is inseparable from the
history of its parent district of Santhal Pargana with its headquarters
at Dumka and is inter-related with the histories of Godda, Dumka,
Deoghar and Pakur districts. It is about 13 km south-east of
Kanhaiyasthan village. This town was the seat of administration of
Bengal during the Mughal period, when Raja Man Singh (Akbar’s Rajput
general) made it the capital in 1592.
