Meaning : Beautiful Door
Associated Belief : It Was The Main Entrance To The City

Situated in Hampi, at the back the Elephants' Stables, Singarada Hebbagilu is one of the most huge and oldest gateways in the capital city.

It is a vast gateway called 'Singarada Hebbagilu' or the 'beautiful door' because of its good-looking architecture, which is evident in each and every stone that has gone into its making. The gate, according to an inscription that has been revealed near it, was the main entrance to the city.

There are two temples within the gateway as well. Now in a state of dilapidation, the gateway is being restored to its former splendor, so that it can truly bear its olden name.
