Nanak Jheera, located near Ali Barid's Tomb in Bidar where a road dips down the plateau towards the north is a magnificent Gurudwara built by the Sikhs.
The famous Nanak Jheera, the major Sikh temple in Karnataka, carries the tale that Guru
Nanak - the first guru of the Sikhs visited this place and got rid of the scarcity of drinking water in the region.
A popular spot is the Sikh temple, Guru Nanak Jheera, where fresh crystal clear spring water appears from nowhere.
Legend
Legend has it that Guru Nanak visited the place while the land was in the grip of a
starvation. The guru performed a miracle at the request of the suffering humanity and a spring rip open forth and to this day water flows out of the laterite trap.
Sikh pilgrims flock to Nanak Jhera all the year round. A visit while the holy hymns are being sung by the 'ragi' can be mainly civilizing.
