Pakhala Bhat

Ingredients
 
  • Rice 1 kg

  • Curd 1/2 kg

  • Green Chillies 2 sliced into two pieces

  • Curry Leaves one stalk Mustard Seeds 1 tsp

  • Ginger 10 gms finely chopped

  • Vegetable Oil 1 tsp

  • Salt to taste

Method

  • First cook the rice then leave it to cool

  • Take 1 tsp oil in a pan and heat it, add the mustard seeds, curry leaves, sliced chillies and chopped ginger and remove immediately.

  • Add cold water to the cooked rice so that the rice is submerged in the water.

  • Add the fried ingredients and the curd to the cooked rice

  • Add salt to taste

  • Stir well and serve hot.
