Lucknow Queen's College was designed by Major Kittoe in
1847-52 AD. Queen's College is one of the oldest secular community
buildings, built in the 'exact' Gothic style in India. Built of
Chunar stone, this building of this college follows a vertical style,
with a superior central tower and corner towers attached by open
arcades. The major entrance hall of college has a plaque recording the
foundation of the original Sanskrit College by Jonathan Duncan.
